Citing headless and cloud deployments, as well as an integration-friendly framework for best-of-breed products, Episerver (now Optimizely) broke through as a leader in Forrester’s WCM Wave for the first time Monday.
Episerver (Optimizely) joined Acquia and Adobe as “leaders” in web content management, a designation it also received from competing analyst Gartner in September. Gartner also rated Episerver (Optimizely) as a leader in digital commerce and horizontal portals in 2016.
Forrester provided research, analysis, and scoring for 15 platforms. Requirements in the report include: content management; websites and layout, globalization and localization, content targeting, multichannel, social and community controls, publishing and deployment, measurement, content structure and metadata, experience management features, technical product architecture, and packaged extensions.
Sitecore, which slipped from “leader” to “strong performer”, Hippo, OpenText Teamsite, IBM, e-Spirit, Progress Software, Oracle, Jahia, Crownpeak, and Magnolia were among the other 15 platforms receiving consideration.
The recognition comes on the heels of a busy 2016 for Episerver (Optimizely).
In September, Episerver (Optimizely) announced its acquisition of Peerius, a cloud-based product recommendation engine. One month later, the platform announced it had also acquired omnichannel campaign management and optimization platform, Optivo.
Paired with out-of-the-box smart content features, like Visitor Groups and A/B testing, Episerver (Optimizely) continues to position itself as a leading digital experience and personalization provider.
An engaged developer community and a strong global partner network have been cited as other “standout features” for Episerver (Optimizely) in previous Forrester reports.
