Highlights for Optimizely releases include support for .NET 6 and UI updates to the CMS.

Optimizely's continuous release cycle provides new features and bug fixes weekly. Every couple of months, C2 aggregates and highlights some of the more significant updates to Optimizely software.

Upgrades for .NET 6

The following Optimizely products and features have been upgraded to be supported on .NET 6:

  • Search - Fixed in EPiServer.Search 10.0.0 [CMS-19870]
  • Form Service API - Fixed in EPiServer.Forms.ServiceApi 5.0.0 [AFORM-3017]
  • Service API - Fixed in EPiServer.ServiceAPI 6.1.0 [COM-15245]
  • Marketing Testing (A/B, Experimentation) - Fixed in EPiServer.Marketing.Testing 3.1.0 [MAR-1503]
  • Form Samples - Fixed in EPiServer.Forms.Samples 4.0.0 [AFORM-2968]
  • Content Manager - Fixed in EPiServer.Labs.ContentManager 1.1.0 [CMS-24975]

CMS UI Updates

Many of the releases included updates to improve the overall user-friendliness of the editor experience of the CMS.

  • A clickable help icon is displayed next to any property that has help text, which helps provide contextual information for editors to do their job more efficiently - Fixed in EPiServer.CMS.UI 12.10.0 [CMS-22478]
  • A message has been added in the Set Access Rights view to confirm that changes were sent for approval - Fixed in EPiServer.CMS.UI 12.10.0 [CMS-23550]
  • Property widths have been improved to increase readability and improve usability of text - Fixed in EPiServer.CMS.UI 12.10.0 [CMS-20349]
  • Label locations have been moved to be above components in Edit Mode - Fixed in EPiServer.CMS.UI 12.10.0 [CMS-20362]
  • New user guide has been updated in the help link - Released in EPiServer.CMS.UI 12.10.0 [CMS-22103]

Commerce Updates

The following Optimizely features have been added to Commerce:

  • Added functionality to search anonymous orders by name and email - Fixed in EPiServer.Commerce 14.6.0 [COM-15930]
  • Set up Fallback and Replacement language for Catalog content, which is similar to the existing feature in CMS - Fixed in EPiServer.Commerce 14.6.0 [COM-12848]

Other noteworthy updates

Re-introduce Reports center in CMS 12

Fixed in EPiServer.CMS.UI 12.12.0 [CMS-17340]

The Reports tab, which was available in CMS 11, is now available in CMS 12. Some of the reports included are Not Published Pages, Published Pages, Changed Pages, Expired Pages, Simple Addresses, and Link Status. 

 

Plug-in manager added to CMS 12

Fixed in EPiServer.CMS.UI 12.13.0 [CMS-24209]

Access Welcome DAM through CMS

Fixed in EPiServer.CMS.UI 12.9.0 [CMS-23534]

Once a developer on your team has integrated the DAM Library Picker with Content Cloud and created a button to access the DAM, content editors will be able to browse a Welcome asset collection.
