The C2 Group completed over 325 hours of community service in 2015 by packaging nearly 3,800 meals for seniors.

Culture & News

C2’s last community service project of the year is arguably the most anticipated.

It’s not that we haven’t enjoyed ourselves this year with groups like the Grand Rapids Bike Coalition, Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids, and Steepletown Neighborhood Services. No, it’s that our work with the Senior Meals on Wheels Program has turned into something of a contest.

Naturally, our office would turn volunteering into competitive sport.

Paired with our good friends at 52 Watt Studios and split off into two teams, the real winners of the service project were the nearly 3,800 senior citizens who will be receiving prepackaged meals this holiday season.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Only one chaffing dish full of gravy was harmed during this service project.

During 2015, C2 employees dedicated approximately 325 hours to volunteering with the great groups mentioned above. These efforts have included:

  • Counting and mapping bike racks throughout Grand Rapids for the Grand Rapids Bike Coalition.
  • Landscaping and grounds improvements for Gilda’s Club, a community organization for those living with cancer.
  • General upkeep (cleaning, landscaping, and painting) and assembling a computer lab for Steepletown Neighborhood Services, a non-profit dedicated to transforming lives within the urban core of Grand Rapids.
  • Packaging nearly 3,800 meals for the elderly with the Senior Meals on Wheels Program.

We are grateful to live and work where we do. We believe in what these groups do to make life better for those in our community.

Mostly, we're just happy to give back.
